13 Feb 2005 - BBM invited to attend Media Tournament

Big Boy Media have been asked to submit a 5-a-side team to the North East's biggest football tournament -- for the North East's biggest media companies!

Optimism is high in the Big Boy Media camp, with regular practice matches taking place for the previous 6 months, and the recent appointment of team cheerleaders, the prospect of Winners Medals and the all-important Media Trophy are on the horizon.

"At the end of the day, it's a game of two halves" reported Director Jordan Taylor in a recent interview. "We're hoping the other teams won't show up until half-time, so it will give us a bit of an advantage. As Howard Wilkinson once said, 'I'm a firm believer in that if the other time scores first, we'll need at least two goals to win the game'. This is real Roy of the Rovers stuff, although we're still looking for a player called Roy".

"To be honest we're still looking for a good 'keeper .. having your own gloves would definitely be a bonus", added co-director Andrew Hetherington.

When quizzed about his team's tactics, Mr Taylor was obviously a little cagey, although he did admit that he was thinking of a 2-2 formation and sticking at least one man in goal.

If you want to drop by and cheer on the Big Boy team, be at the Gateshead POWER LEAGUE football centre on Sunday 13th Feb 2005, from 1.30pm. Any support will be greatly appreciated! We will try to film a few of the matches, and showcase a 'goal of the season' competition on our website ... or failing that have plenty of footage to fill a future episode of You've Been Framed or Kirsty's Home Videos!
